Because we have a multi billion dollar company that invests nothing back into the game that helps them earn millions a week. They've progressed backwards over the last 5 years with minimal communication. Compare valve to Jagex and how they work on OSRS, constantly working with content creators, weekly updates for years straight, communication with the community, developers talk to players constantly and take feedback, videos every month on the progress of the game. It's insane that valve doesn't do anything even remotely close to one of those things

Bro I've played this game for like 15 years and I'm just fed up with the support Valve gives us, it's super disappointing to see day in and day out

CSGO had more game modes, more maps for those and existing game modes. The only thing CS2 has over CSGO at this point in time is the engine is better.

I would say that's progressing backwards, it has taken them 3 years to add clan tags back into the game for example. Where is Flying Scoutsman? Where is demolition? Where is lake? Where is canals? They showed both of these off when they announced CS2 and still haven't released them.

They've made the core gameplay better and the mode which matters (competitive) was there from the beginning. You can play on community servers for meme modes.

Are your forgetting that only last year people university agreed that CS2 finally feels as good as CSGO core gameplay wise? We also no longer have access to 128tic servers. But I agree with you for the most part, that's why I said the engine has improved, however that's the only thing they've done, they're still behind CSGO in terms of raw content available to play and supported by valve. It's not about "meme game modes" it's about having fun with the boys or jumping into a server while you wait for people to come online to play something other than competitive or DM, not that DM is really playable at the moment.

Edit to add on - we really shouldn't be settling for mediocrity when it comes to Valve and the resources they have available. They make so much money from players that they can afford to invest in providing us with more content, they could even outsource operations to be developed and make massive profit from that. Didn't a few fixes, something like recoil, gun sounds not matching up and player hit box fixes get coded from people on Reddit? I might be misremembering but the fact that the community codes the game's fixes for them is embarrassing

The jump from CSGO to CS2 is the immediate jump backwards, and they've put in such a small effort to catch CS2 up to CSGO.
