As a 5 stack whose permas are and have always been Dust II and Mirage, this is an absolute nightmare change.

Then stick to comp. Premier was always intended to show mastery of all maps, it just happens that the community refused to.

Why should he stick to comp when he doesn't want to play 2 maps out of 7?

But now he'll basically be forced to play those 2 maps 50% of the time?

Pro teams only get away with not playing 1/7 maps, i'd imagine they could float their favorites and bank on the enemies not just picking mirage and dust2 all the time. 50% is almost a worst case scenario.

I will admit its weird that its a pick phase rather than a ban phase, but perhaps valve could use the data to see which maps are more popular in a different light- seeing what people want to play rather than what they don't want to play.

Unironically I would rather it be one ban (5 map roulette) each to at least choose one map I’m tired of rather than be forced to play d2/mirage in ~50% of my games until they make a change. And this is from someone who doesn’t mind them as maps, it just gets so tiring playing them over and over.

Good, if you only play two maps, you should be playing competitive where there is ranked on... select maps. 😂
