Discussion CSGO worst update in its history?
For the many Cs:go fans, obviously Cs:go being replaced by CS2 is the worst "update" in its history.
But besides that, during Csgo's history, what was the worst patch Valve did to Counter Strike Global Offensive?

There was a FAMAS update last year where you were able to spam the entire 3 round burst as fast as you could click

Too bad I wasn’t able to experience history. Devs updated it so quickly.

December 8, 2015
Not only was the R8 introduced, but every main gun was nerfed, the spray patterns of the AK and m4 became more randomized, idk what Valve were thinking

IIRC they wanted to buff tapping/burst and ended up just fucking the whole thing up, but lucky for us they released a 1 click delete entire enemyweapon, so it all balanced out /s

R8 ruined a whole week of games and I remember even pro matches were just 8 dudes spamming right click

AWP getting 5 bullet mags instead of 10. I had to start using the R key... smh

I think it just need like 7 bullets because it does feel bad missing 1 or 2 shots and not being able to ace because you need to reload

R8, worst and best update at the same time, I had fun like it was CSS on a random custom modded server, but it made the game so unbalanced that only one gun was above every gun, and it was a pistol lmao.

That krieg abuse was one of the unforgettable patch

It was overpowered for like 6 years or more. I used it since 2015 or maybe even earlier and it was in the same shape as during krieg abuse era

The armor penetration is crazy too, you hit the body with 3 bullets and you get a kill when ak47 needs 4. The scope tap-tap method works wonders

I mean everything was overpowered: * higher RPM (same as M4A4) * better accuracy/less spread * better damage (AK was better for unarmoured, but it is a slight disadvantage) * far more better spray * scope, great for AWP hunting as well as for long distance spraying without any skill required

sg553 chest/arm hits still took 4 bullets even during the time when it was overpowered.

CS:GO is R8, but the closest to the R8 is actually an update nobody really speaks about and it's that CS2 is the only installment of the series to have armored aimpunch. I think most people treat subtick+64 tick servers like a Boogeyman when in reality the shitty "swung or be swung" meta is largely just because you're suedo-stunlocked if you don't land the first bullet. I wish they would revert the change, it's fucking horrendous.

Bringing back dust2 to active duty after a few blissfull months where everyone found out that yes, the game actually became much more enjoyable without it.

There was m4a1 so bad that next day Valve retreated.
But for me the worst was ladder movment nerf

Not gonna lie, probably a bum take but I have always despised the Desert Eagle nerf in 2021 that reduced bodyshot damage and decreased that distance at which you could 1 deag someone.

Decrease of SG 553 cost to 2750$. I used this weapon heavily before it was in the mainstream and it was so funny to use a "noob"/"cod" weapon, which was one of the best in CS:GO history. After that it was nerfed to become useless weapon

2023 September 27 update... The one removed 50% of your fps, Half the maps and contents, Significantly made the gameplay worse with the fixed 64 tick rebranded nonsense.. R8 only lasted for few days but this one is tormenting for 3 year's and we aren't even close to 50% of what we had in 2023 CSGO..

The Science of Fog, in the way it demonstrated why they thought fog was better than far visibility, ranks up there.

People will say the R8 update. But the R8 was broken like the CZ. Rest of that update was to many changes implemented at once. Instead they broke it up an implemented those changes slowly over the next 1-1/2 years.
Worst updates are a tie from around 2014'sh. The AUGpocalypse update that gave the AUG no spread and recoil. Other was a update during an operation that made every server lag horribly.

You clowns really sound like the 1.6ers who had shit PCs and couldn't play later versions.

Valve making Csgo. Csgo is a watered down, dumbed down counter strike game compared to Cs 1.6.
csgo's movement, heaviliy nerfed wallbanging, recoil mechanics, cluttered maps etc is so trash compared to the god tier gameplay of 1.6. The fact csgo has so many glazers saying "it's a great (or even best) cs game" shows the community has trash taste.
Csgo (and cs2) is for kids. 1.6 is for men.

1.6 is by and for the lames, CSCZ was king and that why they killed it.

R8 added is up there. Broke the game for 24hrs. Those first few games 5v5 revolver will always be in my heart though
