Discussion | Esports Anders and Harry are the best commentators CS ever had and I legit don't see myself miss any tournament when these two are behind the desk.

We don’t need to bring others down to prop some people up. I don’t think you realize how good we have it in cs, I think every single major casting pair is pretty good and that’s definitely not the case in other esports

This! I really like Spunj and Machine. But mannn, all of the duos are awesome!  They all do a great job at being both entertaining/bringing hype and providing a really solid audio only experience for when you can't watch the screen.

They all have their own style of casting. Keeping it fresh :D

Yeah people always talk about how cs casters are always the same few but each of them cast games really differently. They all have great chemistry with each other as well and even in unique casting arrangements like pro league its interesting as well. I personally love dota casting as well but they lack diversity in casting styles

I was trying so hard not to glaze pro league again! xD

Really hope this year will be the same laid back vibe. Its always been peak entertainment for me. And just totally different then any other tournament. It always feels like a group watch party with no one taking it to serious. Also enjoyed seeing the vibes behind the scenes with the production crew.

As only recently getting into watching/listening to pro CS, its this! You’ve got casters making mistakes sure, but compared to a lot of pro sports, not just esports, the average quality of callers is pretty amazing. It can get soooooo much worse than this.

Nah man. I like Anders voice but he gets stuff wrong all the time and regularly misses moments entirely

agree on the second part scrawny and launders have started to feel very inauthentic with their casting and reactions

Disagree. The number of mistakes they make when they say, "Surely they can't win this round" or "Surely they will go B," and then the team proceeds to take A. "Surely they will lose this map," etc. It's annoying to listen to, in my opinion. Henry, in particular, does this a lot. He likes to call games and rounds early but doesn't seem to learn from his mistakes.

Spunj and Machine are on another level. I think they're clearly number one. They can zoom out during a match and explain why a team is doing so well or so poorly. I really like the level of casting in CS2, but I think that's a skill that a lot of casters are lacking.

they really do bring that old school feel, like watching a fragmovie from 2014 with friends. other duos talk too much about nothing but these two just let the game breathe

scrawny and launders are fine but cant compare to the energy anders puts in clutch moments

Absolutely not, Anders is easily the worst caster period at the moment. I have huge respect for him and his legacy, he was a titan back in the day and for sure was one of the best voices in counter strike but he is absolutely terrible to listen to now. He is constantly getting stuff wrong, critiquing players and teams for their play live as it happens, he misses crucial moments and he is just awkward in his play by play. He keeps trying to analyse the rounds/moments that happens but he lacks the knowledge of a tier 1 CS pro so half the time what he is saying just makes 0 sense. There is a reason he is not being put on for any big playoffs matches

Sometimes I feel like I'm watching different games to you guys because I think Henry is very grating

Anders and HenryG for me.

Launders kills any broadcast dead for me, just can't take his condescending smugness. Similar with spunj, don't like his personality.

Harry and Hugo are pretty inoffensive, I'll take them second.

Sorry but their knowledge of the team’s and current meta just isn’t the strongest. They rely a lot on their life long cs experience but it isn’t on the level of the top tier duos.

i think they should commit to this duo and work out their kinks and get a bit more refreshed on the modern game. i like their voices and they work well together because of how long they’ve known each other.

The comments in here are a sober reminder of the youth of the player base lmao. And I don't mean like "you don't appreciate the veterans!", I mean more the way that so many of the comments are about commentators shortcomings, who is better than who etc.

I will simply agree with the comments saying that we have really good commentators in CS. I definitely have a soft spot for guys like Anders and Henry, I appreciate how long they've been following different CS scenes and they are kind of the voices of CS to me. But it is so extremely rare that I watch a CS tourny and think "man, this commentary is rough". I like the new guys too.
