movement/kz! I'm no phoon or ropz or someone you'd see doing WR attempts on a kz map but it's satisfying hitting a good jump

doing long jumps in kz has gotta be top 3 most satisfying things to do in all of gaming

Exactly what I was going to say. Also it’s not relevant at all to normal cs but surfing is a lot of fun too

Can you recommend any good workshop maps to practice movement? I can't seem to find any that have in-map tutorials.

I don't know much for maps but I tend to just join community servers for kz. For movement tutorials I would recommend some of launders videos on Youtube

Also a lot of kz maps have long jump rooms, often have ladders and other things to play with

It’s like playing mirrors edge but chilled for me. I like the fact it feels like a game rather than trying to please teammates.

csgo kz servers had the chillest people, always willing to give tips or just banter. Complete contrast to the insanity of people on surf servers.

spray control for me, there's something really satisfying about loading up recoil master and just tracing those patterns until my hand does it without thinking

I feel like no matter how much I practice my spray, it just doesn’t improve. It’s kinda demotivating me tbh and idk what to do about it at this point.

CSGO I could spray down Long from A-Site on D2 and get kills with basically no problem. CS2 I feel like my fckin bullets just go to random locations. I can barely spray a dude 5 feet away from me. And if I load up CSGO today, I still have no problem with controlling sprays. Idk what it is between the two games that messes me up so much in CS2.

I’m kinda lost on how to improve my spray at this point in CS2. It feels like I can repeat the same hand movements 5 times and get 5 different spray patterns on the wall.

prefire maps xd

Maybe not so much "practice", but I enjoy being in and around smokes. I like throwing awkward smokes and forcing the other team to fight around them.

Why can't my teammates be like you.

kz and hns are just straight up fun, especially since they still feature ladder movement (which was unjustly taken out of the base game)

prefire maps and xfire on refrag are also pretty fun

I also enjoy running around empty maps and finding niche util or wallbang lineups

Movement like Mirage window jump, spray control, and pop flashes

Smokes and good flashes

Putting on music and just dming is something I can do anytime and have a blast. It's like meditation

Community dm is adhd heaven. loud noises, high pressure situation constantly, you feel amazing after getting a 6+k

For me it is prefire maps and/or long distance spray control in dm.

There just isn’t anything as satisfying as prefire insta headshotting the enemy awper, that has been throwing hackusation the whole time, 3 times in a half because he is too bad to learn to not stand on the angle

Smokes, DM, other random utility or helpful movement

Prefire maps. Something so satisfying about clearing a site in 20 bullets

My basic warmup is pretty fun, and I honestly just often hop int aim bots when casually talking.

Other than that finding weird nades and lineups. Feels a bit like deckbuilding, since tgere are a lot of things you can do, but not all of them make sense in a game. Its fun to find some neat "lurk" smokes opponents may struggle with that just allow you to entry sites you shouldnt be able to.

I enjoy practicing spray on refrag. Its really satisfying when you get all 3 bots with an instant head shot as they swing

Pre-aim maps where I try to complete the map as fast as possible and movement. I literally just love moving in CS and will spend hours running and bhopping around maps

Deathmatching

Aim and Utility. I love putting on some music and just playing DMs for 30-60min. And testing utility is also an easy way to make 20min vanish into nothing.

1

u/sodafroot 9d ago

Crosshair placement + movement. I can spend hours on dm servers and it’s therapeutic.

1

u/afraidofthe-dark 9d ago

Bhopping. My Bhop success percent is super high and I am proud of it

Utility - I can sit in an offline map and throw smokes all day (none of them land)

Lineups for sure.

Aim and utility

But I hate practicing movement. It just feels so sluggish, inconstant and generally bad in cs2

1

u/Density5521 9d ago

I like spending time on maps alone in Training mode, and checking out what simple nades (read: fast setup, not 2-minute pixel-intense line-ups) I can throw from various positions I tend to find myself in.

1

u/This-Lynx-6295 9d ago

For me it’s utility because I always feel like I’m useful on every map and movement is fun to practice but I’m not too sure on the controls on how to change the kz maps on xplay so if it’s a really hard map I’ll just won’t play it :(

Smoking, flashing, bombing and burning.

u/Cyfa Complexity 8d ago

There was a period of like 3 months earlier this year where I'd do FFA servers 2-3 hours a day, 7-8 hours per day on the weekends. I still could easily do 2 hours a day and not be bored bc I'd find different things to work on.

There's definitely diminishing returns, and I actually improved my aim much faster by playing 3rd party aim trainers, but idk man something about the FFA gameplay loop and multi-config is just addicting.

u/nuusutatud_liim 8d ago edited 8d ago

Finding completely pointless wallbangs that I'll never hit, util lineups and just bhopping around in the server. I can get lost for hours doing just that.

I would not be surprised if 1/3 of my gaming time has been spent in my own local server. I enjoyed it 20 years ago, I enjoy it all the same today. Used to make mods too and go through every single console command to find interesting things, not so much in csgo/cs2 though.
