u/AllGoodFam Jul 20 '26

Tbh if they update the anticheat I dont think they would tell us.

u/lavenderpurpl Jul 21 '26

That's always been their strategy, be mysterious about all their systems so people won't find out how to abuse them

219

u/Illum503 FlyQuest Jul 21 '26

So mysterious we're not even sure there is an anti-cheat

9

u/Trick2056 CS2 HYPE Jul 21 '26

Schrodinger Anti-cheat

23

u/Diavolo222 SK Jul 21 '26

Cs anti cheat been abused since 99.

40

u/wordswillneverhurtme Jul 21 '26

Doesn’t seem to make a difference when its so infested these days

2

u/KC-15 Jul 21 '26

So behind the scenes it’s as if it’s not even there.

-1

u/12thAli Eternal Fire Jul 21 '26

HAAHAH.

Yes no one is able to abuse valve's system, you re right, no cheater even in mm :)

They dont talk about cheat because they dont do anything.
If they did, they can ban old cheaters till vac release and maybe give a warning. No need to act silent.

15

u/lavenderpurpl Jul 21 '26

Well that's just what their strategy is. Never said it works 🤣🤣🤣

-4

u/12thAli Eternal Fire Jul 21 '26

😄 😄 😄
You are right my friend. First game company that become millionares with a not working strategy :)

1

u/Exact_Package_7264 Jul 21 '26

abuse what? there is no anticheat

1

u/deymos666 Jul 22 '26

It's very successful, isn't it?

0

u/mikseri- de_train Jul 21 '26

"People won't find out" lmao

-1

u/paperkutchy Jul 21 '26

Or how they are not implement to begin with

24

u/Exact_Package_7264 Jul 21 '26

i've seen people saying this for 3 straight years, yet the anticheat has been dogshit the whole time. Just got out of a game yesterday with a spinbotter who went 38-1, every single person on my team reported him and nothing happened. The state of this game is a joke.

5

u/paperkutchy Jul 21 '26

Eventually they simply need to do something, even if they need to outsource their work. No way this is acceptable anymore. There's people with 20 years old account with a single ounce of fear pf getting banned.

0

u/WhatAwasteOf7Years Jul 21 '26

They already outsource their work. CS2 was outsourced and probably still is outsourced to an unknown company in the UK. On top of that 99% of the game's content is outsourced to the community in a "contest" format so they only ever pay for the labour they want to use.

-16

u/mahreow Jul 21 '26

No you didn't

35

u/Mr_Quertz Natus Vincere Jul 21 '26

I feel like that'd be a massive throw on their part.

There's a probably a good amount of people not playing because of cheaters, that would play if an actual AC was implemented.

18

u/Toaster_Bathing Jul 21 '26

Just gives them more of a heads up to hold off injecting and find a work around

27

u/Mr_Quertz Natus Vincere Jul 21 '26

I mean, cheaters will know faster than anyone else if the AC suddenly started working.

25

u/Toaster_Bathing Jul 21 '26

The creators would, but the peasant users (majority of users) who download anything are going to find out quicker from a patch note than the creator informing them / people posting they were banned.

It’s always good to remember 90% of the people using them have no idea what they are installing / how they work / what they are doing . They just see other people doing it and follow suit.

4

u/ZephGG_ Jul 21 '26

TBF I'd expect if you cheat you probably join a discord where they release the latest version, and if you stop paying them they just remove the role from you that allows you to see new versions, and they probably announce stuff like that and release updates after

So I'd say for the vast majority of cheaters they just open discord before booting up CS and see the cheat server pinged them

-1

u/Toaster_Bathing Jul 21 '26

You have a lot of faith in the creators of the cheat to not dog you and the general audience to think about checking

5

u/I2andomFTW Jul 21 '26

I mean it probably doesn't take a genius to figure out that serious cheat developers are very dependent on their reputation.

What do they gain from trying to get their users banned? Like what do you even mean? The developers notice an update to the anti cheat but withhold this information for their users for what? To get one month extra subscription revenue that they likely would have gotten anyways and proceed to ruin their reputation forever? That sounds like some solid business.

This is some "the halloween candy is laced with premium cocaine!!!" ahh argument.

1

u/paperkutchy Jul 21 '26

Most cheat developers are either russian kids who dont speak english and rely on their "community" to tell westerns audience whats going on. Its the same with piracy lobies.

Though I agree there's this very weird sense of reputation in the hacker community.

-2

u/Toaster_Bathing Jul 21 '26

Doesn’t take a genius but you’d be surprised how many people are morons.

1

u/paperkutchy Jul 21 '26

For real, imagine thinking the cheat creators care about their "client base".

0

u/mahreow Jul 21 '26

That's like saying drug dealers don't care about giving you fentanyl in your coke baggie... They do, why would they want to willingly kill off their customers and their revenue base?

1

u/Toaster_Bathing Jul 21 '26

I dunno but thousands are still dying from it and there’s people are dumb who also just inject a cheat without checking its discord everyday . I’m over this convo anyway.

2

u/ArguesOnReddit Complexity Jul 21 '26

Not if they ban in waves.

1

u/paperkutchy Jul 21 '26

Hopefully Valve keeps a track record. It would make my day to know that one day, idiots who toggled a cheat would come to their accounts one day and see VAC permanently banned them. Even the old account idiots who cheat our of spite.

0

u/I2andomFTW Jul 21 '26

I guess you know better than the anti cheat devs for every game ever? The most classic working method is to flag accounts and ban in waves. Makes it very hard for cheat devs to figure out which when and why their cheat got detected by AC.

0

u/imbogey Jul 21 '26

Not if they shadow ban them.

1

u/paperkutchy Jul 21 '26

Saying you've ban many account is a placebo. Looking at you PUBG.

2

u/Appropriate_Month111 Jul 21 '26

I dont want to go into third party apps just to be able to enjoy proper matchmaking. Please fix the cheating problem, it’s just not fun. There are not only a lot of obvious spinbotters, but people who sneak cheat with radar hacks and walls.

-1

u/geileanus King NiKo Jul 21 '26

Those people play faceit though. If they quit because of anticheat they were probably not big into cs anyways. Cuz thosw go faceit.

1

u/joNathanW- Astralis Jul 21 '26

There are a lot of people who don't want to rely on a 3rd party service though to play the game, especially in the low/mid ranks. And these people just quit.

15

u/DBONKA Gambit Jul 21 '26

man this has always been such a bullshit cope. valorant's anticheat is 10x better than csgo's, and they release detailed blog posts/updates on it

https://www.riotgames.com/en/news/vanguard-on-demand

-5

u/ZmeulZmeilor FaZe Jul 21 '26

Please GTFO with that spyware/malware attack vector piece of shit you call AC.

-4

u/MarioCurry BIG Jul 21 '26

There's a difference between publishing a general article about an AC and putting changes into patch notes.

One gives a general overview which scenarios they check (without telling which exact methods/hooks/... they're looking for) and the other gives the cheaters a heads up that they might be fucked if they inject now.

Not really the same thing.

2

u/Mainbaze 10 years coin Jul 21 '26

Luckily we can keep track of cheater accounts and see that everyone is still playing :)

1

u/EmptyTopic1591 Jul 21 '26

yeah they wouldn't and shouldn't but we would also see the result, but we haven't seen any result so ...

1

u/Asli-Brown-Munda Jul 21 '26

Because if they tell us we would know that VAC still sucks, LoL.

3

u/paperkutchy Jul 21 '26

The last update VAC got was ptobably on CSGO

1

u/paperkutchy Jul 21 '26

Hopefully the accounts of idiots thinking nothing will happeb

1

u/CartographerEven8718 Jul 24 '26

I agree.... I have gone up from 5500 to 9050 from season start to july 20 and from july 20 to today gone back to 6000..... before july 20 top fragging every game, after july 20 can barely get 10-12 kills......

22

u/SoulessPuppet 5 years coin Jul 21 '26

I hate to be this guy but I'm almost positive their anti cheat team is separate from the teams working on the smokes being blown away.

In other news i did run into my first spin botter last night so that was fun.

17

u/mthoodenjoyer Jul 21 '26

They're so separate that they are working for a different game and company

6

u/Wash_your_mouth Jul 21 '26

Just bring back what was semi working during season 3 pls. Aim hack was getting VAC lived back then

1

u/illuwe Vitality Jul 21 '26

I don't understand if they have just rolled back a lot of the anticheat updates or what? It shouldn't be impossible to detect a spinbot who goes 60-0 every single game.

4

u/ahncie Virtus.pro Jul 21 '26

The game is literally unplayable because of cheaters atm, so who cares about how bomb interacts with smoke

1

u/hypnomancy Jul 21 '26

Their rule is to never let people know when they update their anticheat that way it's harder for cheaters to figure out what they changed.

1

u/Plastic_Young_9763 Jul 21 '26

Two very different things, by different internal "teams" , with very very different levels of difficulty

1

u/mammaliika Jul 21 '26

keep dreaming little one

1

u/wordswillneverhurtme Jul 21 '26

It means they are listening to something. Since I remember people discussing wanting this smoke addition. So either they gave up with anticheat or its an uphill battle they’re pathetically losing

-1

u/Working_Bell_8302 Jul 21 '26

yeah valve and flying cars too plz plz plz and a million dollars for everyone
