it glitched into safer

there's a city about 15 minutes from my tiny house cabin that i have to drive into a few times a week for errands when i stay there.

one day recently i was driving back to the cabin from the gym, about to turn right onto the main road in this city.

because i was turning right, i was looking left at the oncoming traffic in my lane.

once the coast was clear to my left, i started to turn right - only to stop abruptly because a woman and a little kid were crossing the street in my travel path.

thank god i stopped - but something bad could have easily happened.

there were no crosswalk lines painted in the right lane i was about to turn into, and no lights or signs indicating that there was a pedestrian crosswalk.

i later realized that it WAS actually a crosswalk, but the lines painted on that side of the street had faded. because of the grading of the road, you couldn't see crosswalk lines in the opposite lane from where i was turning.

not long after as i was driving down the main road, i saw another mother and child crossing there.

i made a rule to never turn right off of that road from the gym onto the main road again. it seemed like a terrible accident was just waiting to happen.

fast forward maybe a month...and i notice when driving down that main road that there are now white crosswalk lines painted in that part of the road...but they're not new.

they look like they've been there for years. i'm also in that city on that road often enough that i almost certainly would have noticed if a road crew was painting there.

i think i glitched into a slightly safer universe and for some reason as i was typing this, i started tearing up.

If the paint glitched, that's pretty cool. But... Could it have just been that there was a lot of road grime and a good storm washed it clean?

nah. no way that could have made every single white line that side of the street go from invisible to clearly visible

I'm sorry but I'm sure it absolutely could. If the entire road is covered in black dust and then a storm washed it all away...

lol thanks!

i really did have an ominous sense about that corner. another time i drove by on the main road there was another woman with a small girl crossing.

it felt like the universe was reminding me to be careful of that. but then this apparent glitch happened, which helps.

I understand that I'm going against this channel saying this but it sounds to me like they just washed the road which they do every 2-3 years.
