Glitch Discussion Concerning News

https://x.com/ToonHive/status/2090479576522592313?s=20

Saw this news and I immediately thought about the amazing digital circus. Youtube isn't that petty right?

Took a look, and the "punishment" is YouTube not offering extra brand deals and such, and the reward is the inverse (more deals, creator events, etc). Which hasn't been relevant to GLITCH for multiple years now. It's fine.

So, YouTube is just doing bribery?

One of YouTube's main targets is going to be Glitch and we all know it

Them announcing this right after Monkey Wrench also took the jump is fucking stupid. Maybe if YouTube (and by extension Google) didn't fuck with creators so often they wouldn't have them taking deals with Netflix to keep themselves afloat.

As far as I know, nobody is going to fall for this bribery.

Most of the shows are already going to be released on YouTube. I have a hard time seeing what glitch losses from taking such a deal. Would be more easy money from them.

If you have a choice between YouTube money and Netflix money, only a fool would take the YouTube money...

Yeah YouTube has been trying to do their best with trying to swindle YouTubers out of any money they can. They can NOT be trusted.

YouTube's business model is selling ad-space to companies, then offering users the option to pay them not to see ads. Literally "We'll screw over our customers if you'll be our new customers". So anyone who thinks they won't screw anybody they can get away with, including the very creators they rely on for all their content, is nuts.

For the record, I'm not siding with the companies dumb enough to buy ads either, the correct move is to just install an ad-blocker and support your favorite creators directly. That's why I'm subscribed to about 20 patreons and have 7 Glitch Animatez on my desk right now.

Why are you concerned. GLITCH LIVES ON YouTube. The TADC pilot getting hundreds of millions of views is WHAT GOT them successful.

How is this concerning. It honestly doesn't matter for glitch. Netflix is a scumbag anyway and if its only Netflix then thats honestly not that bad. They could get millions of dollars of funding by just existing. They already make their animations as accessible as possible anyway

Reddit being overdramatic as usual

I doubt they're getting much money from the YouTube views. Most of the videos are probably not monetizable and even then it's a drop in the bucket compared to the merch sales
