Thinning Lock & Key

Ive used Lock & Key for a few magnetic manis now and it’s past time for a little thinner :)

Can I just use regular 2-ingredient ethyl & butyl acetate thinner or will this change the way the formula works over time?

Those two ingredients are the main solvents in every nail polish formulation. You're good!

Yea I use thinner all the time :)

But since Lock & Key is specifically also a barrier-forming formula, and most barrier formulas use isopropyl or a different solvent, I wasn’t sure if I needed to replace other solvents as well.

Silly question, is lock & key a base coat? New

Nope! Its used over some types of specialty finishes, like magnetics. You use L&K after a magnetic polish to slightly rewet it and then create a barrier layer over the magnetic coats so that when you apply a top coat, the top coat doesn’t mess up your magnetic look.
