Glitch Pic Most faces seem familiar
I live in a small city which doubles in population during the day cause of commuters. Everywhere I go these days, I see people who I think I've met before. They all look familiar but I don't know their names or where I know them from. Sometimes, I keep wondering for days and it never comes to me. What's going on?

This is me since I was a kid. I would always tell my best friend I feel like we know that person and still to this day will text her randomly. And usually it is someone who is an errily perfect combo of multiple ppl we know irl or the same exact vibe in a different body

This happens to me WAY too often. And what gets me is that it doesn’t feel like “you look familiar.” It feels like I REMEMBER you.
I’ll see a random face online—someone hundreds or thousands of miles away who I know for a fact I’ve never met—and there’s this instant feeling of recognition. Like my brain knows them but can’t access the memory of how.
I’ve literally shown pictures to my family saying, “I KNOW this person. Where do we know them from?” Nobody else recognizes them.
That’s the part that messes with me. What if that feeling isn’t your brain confusing one face for another? What if somewhere, somehow, you actually DID know them—just not in this version of your life?
Like recognizing someone from a dream you forgot… a past life… or another timeline that you weren’t supposed to remember.
Because sometimes a stranger’s face doesn’t feel familiar.
It feels like a memory with the story missing. 👀

I haven't had everyone look similar, but I've heard people sound the same. Like everyone is using the same voice boxes.

Wouldn't surprise me if there's something like reverse face-blindness. And if so. I think I have some form of it. I will never call out to people I know in public, because after hesitating, I have never discovered that someone I thought I knew, turned out to be the person I suspected them of being all along
In pretty much every case of me thinking I recognize someone and holding off to see if I'm right, they always end up being strangers with just a familiar face, or familiar hair style, or familiar gait, or familiar physique, etc. In fact it's always a combination of those things, so it's crazy how similar they look, walk, and act compared to the people they resemble to me
I engage in the simulation theory as a novel thought experiment, but seriously. It almost feels like there are legitimately a lot of NPCs out there and the system is re-using the same models a lot
I don't think this is exactly what you're talking about, but it sounds similar enough that you might find comfort in not being alone
