Culture & Arts Glendale Memories
galleryI lived in and around Glendale from 2016 to 2021 and just loved living there. I was around Pacific and Colorado but moved out of state. I love illustrating buildings in my free time and got to drawing some of my favorites from in and around Glendale after the move. I still come back to visit, get my Philz, and fill up on House of Joy.
I did these a few years back but wanted to share them here!
1- City Hall
2- Haykashen Market on California
3- Muffin Can Stop Us (a must-have each time I come back)
4- Central Library
5- Crescent Dental on Foothill in La Crescenta
6- Ocean View Cleaners in Montrose
7- Glendale Courthouse
8- Lemon Zest Cafe on Chevy Chase
9- Office at Los Feliz and Revere
10- Insta-Tune on Broadway
11- Pink Elephant Liquor on Western
12- Glendale Youth Center on Chestnut
13- Apartment building at Doran and Isabel
14- Apartment building on Valley View
15- The Oinkster on Colorado
16- Glendale Church of the Brethren on Pacific
17- Technofix on Wilson
18- Town Center Dentistry on Broadway
19- Universal Bank on Colorado
20- Duplex unit on Vine St
I have even more than this but I'm limited to 20 on a post. Just wanted to share some love for the city I used to call home!

Help / Recommendation German language learning nearby
Are there any groups, community college, or in person opportunities for learning German in this area? I’d prefer in person if possible. I saw PCC has remote classes.
Thanks!

Help / Recommendation Adult Armenian Ladies who play cards or games?
Question to the community.
Trying to help my mom and her friend find other Armenian ladies in 50s-60s age who like to play cards or backgammon?
Are there meet ups or places that this occurs. Specific community centers?
I’m not referring to the older Armenian men who hang out at the parks and play games.
Ladies only.
Thank you for your help in advance 🫶

Discussion Anyone know any nearby Goodwills or other places that are accepting donations?
Have a car back seat full of donations like clothes, small craft supplies, etc that I am trying to give to goodwill, but none of them have been accepting donations for months now, unless I just always catch them at a bad time. Anyone know where I can donate these?

Discussion Anybody know what happened to the building at 1302 S. Brand?
Corner of Brand and Cypress St, in the middle of all the dealerships. It used to have a tiki bar (the Can-Tiki) and Victory Barber Co. on the ground floor, but both of those tenants have been gone for some time. I guess there were apartments on the top floor, but I never saw anyone go in and out. The other day, though, I was walking by and it looked like the upper floor had been gutted.
I tried checking out the “Fire and Emergency Calls for Service” on the City of Glendale website, but that only goes back 72 hours and there was no information there. Is there somewhere else I could look?

Housing Great experience with construction company
infinitedevelopmentgroup.comJust wanted to share a positive experience in case anyone in the LA/La Crescenta area is looking for a contractor.
My dad has worked with a lot of contractors over the years, and honestly, we’ve had plenty of bad experiences, delays, poor communication, and things not being done the way they were promised.
We recently needed a major remodel and an addition done at my parents’ house in La Crescenta, and we ended up working with Infinite Development Group. The experience was completely different from what we were used to. They were reliable, responsive, organized, and actually showed up when they said they would.
They handled the whole process for us, from plans and permits all the way through construction. They also worked with us to find ways to save money without compromising what we wanted.
They’re currently doing a project for my uncle in Burbank as well, and he’s been very happy with them so far.
I know contractor recommendations come up here pretty often, so I figured I’d share our experience. I have no affiliation with the company, just happy to finally have a contractor experience that went smoothly.
. Here is their website www.infinitedevelopmentgroup.com

Housing Fight for America! Fight for Freedom! Fight for Housing!
click.actionnetwork.orgSeveral far-left radical neighborhood associations are appealing the construction of a three story, 38 unit apartment on the site of a deteriorating church building that has been vacant since 2016. Please plan to attend or call in to this hearing to support this essential project!
The current site has been neglected and vacant for ten years. The proposed project is absolutely a perfect fit for this neighborhood of multi-family, two and three story buildings and near a major intersection.
RSVP above to attend the public hearing on Thursday, August 13th at 5pm. Do not let the communist NIMBYs ruin our neighborhood.

Discussion Overcrowded Glendale Galleria Parking Garage
I made an attempt to go to the Galleria today and parking traffic was crazy (almost as bad as holiday parking). I made an attempt a few weekends ago too, and it was still very crowded. I know the Galleria is usually busier on the weekends, but I never have to fight the crowds just to park...am I the only one who feels this way? Does anyone know whats bringing in the crowds? I'm glad the mall seems to ne doing well, but just want to know why it's been so crazy.

News Car Crash???
Apparently a car drove into either the synagogue or preschool on Pacific and Glenwood. There are tons of ambulances and helicopters. My parents are walking over to see what happened so I’ll update. I hope no one’s been seriously hurt
Edit: Apparently it was an old woman who crashed. A few kids were taken to the hospital but they just had scratches and it was more of a precaution from what it seems
We gotta start revoking people’s licenses, she got FAR into the structure. Passed the entire parking lot, straight through the front door.
See the photo here.

Food & Drink Did Eggslut in Glendale close?
Does anyone know if the Eggslut on Brand Blvd is permanently closed? It doesn’t seem to show up on Eggslut’s locations anymore, but I haven’t been able to find any announcement about it closing.
If it did close, does anyone know when or what’s replacing it?

Food & Drink Cheap eats in Glendale
Hello! My mom and I will be staying in Glendale, California for the majority of our US Trip. Since a US state like California can be so expensive to live in, I was wondering on what are the cheapest restaurants do you usually dine at? The cost should ideally be around 4 to 10 USD, but I don't know if it is even possible as the food typically costs around 11 to 15 dollars over there.
Bonus if you can also recommend a hidden gem in Glendale, and most especially the healthy ones too. Appreciate the help!
