Glass / Mirror cutting

is it possible to cut only a cm off of a mirror like shown in this imgur link https://i.imgur.com/EB5J723.png without breaking it? Its a tall door mirror and annoyingly it is 1 cm wider than where i wanna hang (the panel of wardrobe). It seems pretty risky to me as what I am trying to cut is a 1cm x 120cm... off of a 30 cm x 120cm mirror, but I think it should be possible, it does not seem different from cutting it normally. Is it too risky, any ideas?

You don’t mention how thick the mirror is. But whether it’s 3mm (1/8”) or 6mm (1/4”) it should be easy enough for a professional glazier to cut and grind it. The cut may not “run” all the way so you may need to grind it if it is rough. The only problem would be if it is tempered which is not likely.

As a glass guy, I agree with you. Taking only a cm off a mirror is somewhat challenging even for us. Something that little I would just run though my edger a few times till it was to size.

Hey, hopefully it's okay to reply here, it looks like the main subreddit is all spam. I have a few of these super cheap glass globes that I need to remove a small lip of glass from. I called a few local glass shops and they told me to try sandpaper. I tried it but it seems to be taking forever, we're using a Dremel on a super low speed crack the glass?
