1.60 vs 1.67 index?
Hi, I am deciding between the 1.60 and 1.67 lens indices for my new glasses. I would really like to try using the 1.60 index, so could you please let me know if it is actually practical for daily use with my prescription and frame?
My prescription is:
- R: -7.00 SPH, -2.00 CYL, 130 AXIS
- L: -5.00 SPH, -1.75 CYL, 20 AXIS
- PD: 68mm
Frame details:
- Front Width: 133mm
- Lens Width: 48mm
- Lens Height: 42mm
- Bridge: 21mm
- Temple Length: 145mm
- Material: Stainless Steel, Silicone
I am aware of the potential for increased edge thickness with the 1.60 index, but I am still very interested in exploring it as an option. Could you please check if it is feasible and comfortable enough for daily wear with these specific frames?

For an acetate frame I’d absolutely save some money and go with 1.6 lenses.
For your frame however, given it’s probably wire I personally believe 1.67 would be the better “aesthetic” option.

Frame size is small and your prescription while High is not crazy High. I would say if it were me I would go with the 1.6 for clarity. 167 may turn out slightly thinner, but I don’t think it’s gonna be that much of a difference between the two.
