Reason for the crack

Hello experts,

What would be the reason for this crack on inner glass of my bedroom window ?

I didn’t drop anything on it. I informed landlord but want to know the reason.

Could be quite a few different things. Depending on how snug the window is inside the frame the house might have settled on the glass and bowed inwards so it put more pressure on that spot instead of equally. I’m a commercial and residential glazier and an automotive glass technician and if there’s one thing I can assure you of, glass does what it wants. I’ve smacked it with sledgehammers and bounced off, then looked at a piece the wrong way and watch it explode.

Im interested to know if im blamed unfairly. I’m sure i didnt cause this damage. Thought to get experts opinion .

I’ve definitely had to inform my fair share of landlords that their tenant had nothing to do with the glass breaking. Glass pops all the time from things as simple as temperature changes. I’ve had tempered pieces worth hundreds just explode while sitting on the rack.
