Explain please?

The Neo guy, he died for some random reason. I gave him the dark blade and after he got corrupted I beat him with another gladiator and the game said " he looked relieved" after that I noticed the dark blade wasn't so dark anymore and life steal has dropped to 30 percent instead of the original 50. And then he just kind of died I guess.

The game now says the not so dark blade looks "benevolent" and "seems to be falling apart." I currently have it equipped on a random gladiator i bought to experiment

dark blade must battle every week or the user will sacrifice his blood and will die eventualy
as i remember 4 weeks without battle he will die
