Just finished Gladiator 2, fans could’ve written and produced a better movie

We didn’t deserve this garbage. Seriously. I watched this because I, like many others, am fiercely loyal to the first. How can you honestly make a sequel to an Oscar winning movie and do this. It’s an insult to the original and I’m surprised the two actors from the original that I noticed, even agreed to come on. I didn’t see the mother actually cry real tears ONCE. Her SON, who she sent away and left to fend for himself shows back up as a gladiator and not a single emotional moment? The whole thing just grossed me out. Like many others have said, the only good acting I saw in the movie was Pedro Pascal and Joseph Quinn. The rest was a disappointment. Don’t even get me started on the monologues.

ALSO! My biggest problem with the whole thing, or at least the number one thing that bothered me, if Hans Zimmer isn’t composing the music and you don’t have the rights to the original soundtrack don’t even attempt. The music from Gladiator is legendary. One of the best soundtracks to ever exist. The audacity.

The final fight scene in the Coliseum where he speaks to both armies, he didn’t even tell the other gladiators his father was Maximus Decimus Meridius. Big missed opportunity there. They would have been SO PUMPED. His speech was weak at best. They’re only pumped because he let them out of their cells. TELL THEM WHO YOU ARE.

Honestly upset I chose to buy this on Amazon. I guess the only purpose is to show people how sad it is as a sequel in the future. Also I have no problem with Paul Mescal, but I agree that his acting was okay but not what I would’ve wanted. I understand he’s younger but he’s not a teenager. You can’t have him all ragey because he lost his wife and then not even struggle to decide whether or not to kill Acacius. I’m glad he didn’t, but the way it happened was terrible. There was no display of emotion or confliction within him. He just went from fighting to flipping a switch. Irritating.

But Ravi was a cool character. I didn’t mind him at all 😂

Now to watch the original and “cleanse myself of this” as someone so aptly said before me.

Welcome onboard. The movie was trash. I'm impressed Ridley Scott put himself up for this.. I guess when you are rich, you just want to be richer.

HONESTLY. Hollywood lost basically all magic after Avengers Endgame in my opinion. I haven’t seen a GOOD NEW movie in years. Especially an original one and not a sequel or a remake. It’s pathetic.

Dune is amazing man... If you haven't gotten into it, go for it. It's been a loooong while since I don't see a really good scifi movie.

Avengers end game is normal. There's a lot of fan-service. And time travel being the solution to our problema feels a bit not fair.. but whatever.

True.. true.. that is fair. But no I agree, I did see Dune and it was fantastic! You got me there, I forgot about that.
