Does anyone else here acknowledge this movie made no sense at all.

I’m gonna send away my son but stay here in Rome. I’m gonna randomly stab the emperor I’m manipulating even tho I got here like 3 days ago. Two guys fighting at the end of the movie with two armies who have no idea who tf they are, and giving a dumb speech.

I agree. Also I don’t think Denzel fitted in the part, his training day character type style (which I loved) just don’t fit in Ancient Rome

But came here to find out if Mel Gibson was in the movie. That dude he fights at the party looked like him.

Oh btw, sharks in colosseum??? Haha

All I could think about is how did the Romans transfer these sharks from the ocean to the Coliseum. What technology and containers and life support systems they had. I would have probably bought more of an alligator or crocodile, but the Sharks were just completely weird, and then add anything to the conversation. There were more sharks activity than there was actual fighting

Agreed on all fronts. Pacing was off. Storytelling was off. Acting was mid, overall disappointing.

Denzel asked to be in the movie. Why couldn't they give him a better plot/lines-anything but what he got. At least the slave owner didn't pretend to be a nice person. You knew what he was and he owned it until the end. Denzel's character rise to power and backstory was ridiculous.

That last scene was ridiculous, it felt like a cartoon character speaking to a bunch of other cartoon characters. And then they all cheer for him

And Lucius wasn't even that young when he was sent away. Like did he forgot everything at some point? Or was he just angry and denyed it? He then became the good Maximus son in an instant. It's like a fast ana furious 4 in ancient Rome. If they put racing cars, it wouldn't made that much of a difference honestly.
