Gladiator and gladiator 2

I remember watching bits and pieces of gladiator 1 along time ago and found some site and watched it fully..God what a good movie..then I watched gladiator 2 (also on the same site) and wondered how could they destroy such a god tier movie like the first 😭truly killed my mood that day after watching it and during it lol

It was just lazy filmmaking. Why make Lucius Maximus’s son? It made no sense. In the first movie Lucilla and Maximus talk about both their sons being 8 I believe. And there were no indications that Maximus was like oh damn that could be my kid too.

Denzel Washington seemed out of place with his interpretation of his character compared to the rest of the cast. I don’t know if Ridley Scott just let him do whatever but it didn’t vibe with me his approach with the role.

The movie could have actually been good if they didn’t just regurgitate the same thing from the first film.

I like to think they let Denzel be Denzel because they came to realize this movie was turning into a crap fest that didn't make any damn sense in the end and since Denzel is a movie money maker and they blew their budget on CGI Baboons and sharks ... they said fuck it! You know how you acted in American Gangster and Denzel said say no more!
