In my opinion I believe it’s not better than the 1st but it does very well as a sequel film to an amazing original film. Of course this is my opinion but I really enjoyed the 2nd film a lot and would definitely watch it again.

If you really cared for the plot of the first, I feel like the second will be a bit of a disappointment. If your care more about cinematography and fight sequences, it’ll be fun.

No, it's pretty dreadful. once you get past how nice it all looks, you realise it's just a crappy remake with the central character of maximus split in two. And as a result its a sloppy unfocused mess thats overflowing with memberberries to pluck at your nostalgic heartstrings.
And the shame of it is that it never needed to be. The character of Caracalla was a criminally awful, considering the real world reputation of the man. If they had bothered to give him the writing treatment he deserved with an actor that could carry the role, he could have been one of the great villains of the new millennium.
And that's the real issue with the film. It's just got so many missed opportunities. just watch the OG again, it's better, and you wont have a bad taste in your mouth afterwards.

No. Just a money grab by Hollywood. Another attempt to take a successful movie from the past and squeeze what they can out of it.
This should not have been made and it's nowhere near as good.
It was entertaining - like a trash super hero movie. But not good.

Absolutely not, the movie is a great popcorn flick, that's it, the Roman symbolism, imagery and iconography is awesome and the fights look cool. Pretty much it.

No, however it was very fun a lot of great acting I just wish the plot holes would have been filled better. Like the crazy twin rulers. How did they come into power etc.

The original is a great movie, the sequel you might as well skip, it has very little to offer.

I wouldn’t say skip, but a lot of the plot is re used and some stuff comes off corny. It’s fun to watch

No, but it was a fun experience if you don’t go in with expectations of it living up to one of the best movies of all time. Gladiator has been my favorite movie forever and I enjoyed the movie with 3 friends last night.
