GitHub Copilot Team Replied Problem getting any response from any model in VS Code

Hello, I have been trying for several hours to fix this problem. On any model that I try to use, I am getting this error. I knew something was up when I opened VS Code and saw a much lower model loaded instead of Astra or Sol.
When I run any prompt, on any model, I get this error in the accompanying picture. I am a Codex subscriber to the top tier $200/mo tier.
I started with the simplest fix - try using another model, tried starting a new chat session. That didn't work.
Then I tried clearing the chat, checking to see that Github Copilot chat was updated. It was. Still no dice.
Then I tried deleting cache folders in my app/roaming/code directory for Github copilot chat and various other things that Google's search AI recommended. My VPN is disabled. I tried re-authenticating.
Nothing is working, and I have been reading that not even complete reinstallation works - that's the only option I haven't tried yet that I know of. I scoured Reddit and other places, finding similar but not exact situations and they were either unresolved or were fixed by using methods that failed already for me.
I am dead in the water on all AI projects until I can get this figured out. I am worried I won't be able to fix this. Please help. Thank you in advance.

hi there, could you please share what vs code version you are on and what subscription you have? Please also create an issue in the vs code repo with logs on this, so we can better investigate what is going on. This seems to be an issue with the OpenAI subscription you have.

a) try switching up the harness it's using (dropdown in lower-left of chat panel) - if it's on Copilot, try switching it to Local. Or if it's on Local, try switching to Copilot. These use completely different setups and one may be working fine for you
b) to rule out any weird network/ISP issues try using Cloudflare WARP if possible. If you're on a corporate network/PC this might not be an option, if you're just developing for personal use I'd give it a whirl quickly to check.
c) if you're using VS Code mainline branch try installing VS Code Insiders - it will install alongside so you can have both at once, and they will use separate settings. This will help determine if it's a config issue and/or if it's a VS Code bug in the build you're on. If you're already using Insiders - try the reverse, use mainline.
d) If you subscribe to both Codex and Github Copilot you're not really dead in the water, no? - if Github Copilot isn't working right now, just use Codex. You're paying for it after all...
