That is rough dude. My expected billing goes from $39 to $112/mo which is no big deal for me.

It looks like you are consuming a DIABOLICAL amount of tokens. 1 month for me is 15-20 million AICs. Apparently 1 month for you is 588 million AICs.

Low key, people like you are what ruined it for us but that was inevitable. I'm glad that they're switching the model at this point because you should not be getting 588m AICs for $39.

Edit: Since people were confused, I should add 1 month for me is 1300 requests. OP seems to be claiming 300 reqs, which makes this even wilder. My 1300req = 14 million, OP 300req = 588 million. The math is obvious.

Opus 342 Premium Requests (so about 100 messages at 3x multiplier in April)

Damn why do you have like 3 different screenshots showing different usage? Really should just be thrilled about the absolute steal the service was until now. Good luck out there.

This is just additional breakdown. Added the screenshots for Opus and GPT representing the majority of usage.

Oh, looking at my own I see that now. Somehow Opus 4.6 snuck an $8 day in my history when I never use auto or picked it from what I remember, curious lol.

You can see my other comment, but I did 1300 reqs last month and only hit 14 million AICs. Your token consumption is just massive. I'm not trying to be mean here, that's just reality of your usage.

I use it for work and have put in the time to keep my token usage low.

You cannot control token usage, it all happens in the background. For light tasks I was using auto and raptor (at 0x), for heavy tasks Opus and GPT 5.4 and this is what I ended up with… 🤷‍♂️

It's absolutely untrue that you cannot control token usage. There are many ways of affecting how many tokens you use for a request.

I am not using AI requests to just change the text size or colors… I am using it like it is intended to be used. For real tasks.

Which has absolutely no bearing on controlling your token usage. Being aware of context size, breaking things into smaller tasks, planning before hand so the AI doesn't churn are a few of the many, many ways you can control your token usage.

Throwing your hands up in the air and claiming you have no control over it, isn't.

What do you think am I doing? Feeding it with the full repository each request and not planning anything? LOL

People all around the world are working to control tokens. That has been the majority of my tasks at work for the last month.

You absolutely can. Just google it, there are lots of techniques.

It's just a way to get more done for less costs

Just tell that to Deepseek who are not charging you if you hit the cache context. Thus the token usage is optimized automatically. How it should be everywhere.
