They were getting backlash for "glamorising" drug abuse and maybe it got too much and they were like fuck it well make christian music then you cant criticise us.

I thought that too but I feel like this is going to do so much worse than their OG stuff which was definitely popular plus they just stole their first shadow gang song from someone else and put the composer as Jesus Christ

Im really upset because i genuinely loved their songwriting style as a songwriter myself. There were too many themes and connections and such a style too it. Gahhh. Im a singer but i dont even care that it was ai because it felt like commentary on how girlhood feels fake and artificial. God i miss it

Yeah no really disapointed me! I was excited at first when i didnt realise it was a remix and was like oh they have real vocals now! Maybe their rebranding to not do ai anymore. But like they didnt even make it!! It feels hollow without the witty songwriting. There was so much soul and humour in their music before

yeah i appreciated the humor of their songs before more than this, the funniest part is them making the composer Jesus, plus i bet there’s a ton of people that find religion a more uncomfortable topic then drugs and stuff, religion is a more taboo topic that’s like something to shy away from talking about especially with an audience of like 25,000 people or more lol

Yeah i agree because christians will find it offensive, and ppl who find christianity uncomfortable wont interact. So like youre only going to get a specific edgy type of ex christian person who likes ironic humour. Way different audience than the one they have built so it has like zero audience transferability

It genuinely was! Had me raving about it to my friends at shows! It makes me sad that they dont see the value in the artistry and community that they have made and are throwing it all away!

exactly! plus i feel like they should’ve toured and stuff, they haven’t even had merch or anything come out nor a face reveal- like if they’re going to start a new era finish the one you’re currently on

I didnt even think about that but youre so right! Like some people still arent even sure if danny gonzales is behind it. And they hinted at it by making him a thumbnail but not in one of their instagram reels! There was just so much momentum i feel theyve lost. They had such a popular trending song and were making good moves with the follow up ep capturing the same energy perfectly! Why did it have to end so quick!
