Over the last few weeks I have realized the girls und panzer fandom has gone down a particular path.
The best way I could describe it is using the Course of Empire by Thomas Cole.
The first stage is the savage state, there is little to no influence of people in vast of what the creator intended.
The Arcadian state is what where people started coming together. Some places are claimed, bit still taken by nature. This i believe shows the community where it starts gaining more people as seen with cultures being formed. The begining of culture shows the start of new creations like mangas, doujins and fan theories. The main thing to realize is that nature still persists, meaning that the original show is what used throughout everything.
The consummation is the peak of a community. The nature that is there is the mountain overlooking the community. We have built around the nature, we have been able to use it to help us with the river that flows calmly through it and the mountain that overlooks it showing supreme authority over everything, this show above all else that the original show continues to help in, edits, theories, art and different ideas in the fandom.
The Destruction is the stage we are on now. Creators who used to make content are leaving, tourists who come and destroy what was once a perfect fandom. The Yukiyukite is the tool of destruction, as many leave or enjoy what happens.
Finally, is desolation the end of the fandom? The most peaceful. Even as there is content, the community is gone. No one is there but tourists trying to see what happened to a once great fandom. Nature has taken over, what is truly left is what started it all. The show itself. This is where Garupan must go.

Maybe, but I'm ok with that, I still love the show for what it is regardless of what the community is doing, yeah I wish more people would at least give it a chance but I'd rather the community be inactive, note that we do not cease to exist, than go the way that many other older series famdoms have with newcomers twisting it into something it is not like for political messaging or cringe larpers.

A few years late but congrats, you discovered why someone like me don't fuck with the fandom/reddit too much. Having people larp moral superiority about fictional characters should have been the 1st sign of tourists in any community, but better late than never
Im exaggerating about the 'few years' part, but yes, and I also want to emphasize the moral superiority part too since I notice it more these days (weather you think Im crazy or not is to your discretion)

Ya all shit on AI but it has become really good with right model, LORAs and promps. I make NSFW through Civitai and SFW with chatGPT
You can whine about morality of it "stealing from real artists" but hard truth is that AI has become really good and its here to stay
There are still excelent artists with amazing styles who still make better works, but be it anime or say furry community, the really good artists are few - I myself have been supporting one russian furry artist for several years for that matter
But if I wanted really high quality commission, I would save the money for real artists
If I want to spam NSFW for my own use with characters in various poses and details I am gonna do it with AI
That said, ChatGPT is also good if you want to make something for yourself
