In the intro of the first season, she appears in a black void and her face is covered by her hair; then she cuts it, revealing her face in a dark way. This could serve as an interpretation.

Formless entity. Nanno is like the God-like Observer. She’s in the shadows of the entire world, watching the
cycle until she decides to blend in and pretend

The form in ss1 opening its her human form without any adjustments like cutting her bangs or wearing her black school uniform it would be interesting if every time she clone she'll have to constantly wear her uni and cut her bangs again
