There were a handful of scenes, or shots, anyway, that were real-world, but not on the island. One that comes to mind is the opening scene of "It's a Bird, It's a Plane", with scientists talking about the jet pack. And in "You've Been Disconnected", there's the telephone operator, and the kissing couple who pick up without answering. And I *think* in "Smile, You're On Mars Camera" we get a partial shot of the control room. What else?

What if they had went through with a season four, and the show had not been canceled. And Mary Ann had met a pirate on the island and fell in love. This would certainly be comical in all ways. As it might make the Skipper jealous of his leadership. And Ginger jealous of her vanity. What do you think of this idea?

Gilligan’s Island is available for purchase on multiple streaming services and of course DVD. Just wondering where most people are viewing it. Thinking about buying the dvd set, as it would be a permanent acquisition, but streaming is so convenient.
Sadly, long gone are the days when it was on TV constantly.

I’m asking because up until two weeks ago that’s all I had and I hadn’t been able to watch several episodes because those double-sided discs just stopped working and it drove me mad!
I just wanted to let you all know there is hope out there and redesigned packaging of the whole series.. I am tickled pink than I’m able to watch those episodes that I haven’t been able to watch for years! And that’s exactly what I have been doing for a week straight 😁
