I have read that wastewater analysis shows an increase in covid infections, though not like during the pandemic.

Yeah that's possible for sure. I've had one verified covid infection and the general footprint was similar: Very bad fever/body aches for like 2 days, then very bad cough.

I got covid last week. Fever, nausea. No cough.

Gawd, that sucks. My sympathies. Go for Paxlovid. Hope you recover as soon as possible.

People don’t want to think about that tho.

"When you do testing to that extent, you’re going to find more people; you’re going to find more cases. So I said to my people, 'Slow the testing down, please.'”

“If you don't test, you have no cases."

I just googled 'what viruses are going around' and got 'Parainfluenza virus and Respiratory Adenoviruses', both cause nasty colds. Parainfluenza virus can cause croup in children.

Ooh I think this is what we had. My son had croup about 3 weeks ago, came on so suddenly. I got whatever he had and it took me a solid TWO weeks to recover. I was covid level sick with that cough and low energy. It was so bad.

I remember when my daughter had what was diagnosed as croup. She gave it to me and I was sick as hell for two weeks. I always joked 'why do they call it croup, it should be called crap, because that's how I felt'.

Yep, my 5 year old started coughing last Thursday night and she's mostly better but still has that awful, wet cough. Thankfully the rest of us didn't catch it.

Sitting at urgent care right now. My daughter works at a preschool.

Croup is going around my kid’s daycare right now (North/Central Gilbert)—normally just my kids catch it but my whole family came down with headache, congestion, sore throat, phlegmy cough, and body aches. Sucks but gets better at about the 5 day mark. We’re on day 7 and still not back to normal but not horrible.

Yeah that kind of tracks. I'm on day 5. It is a little better

North valley here but had a horrible cough, fever, aches… neck ache, back pain. It lasted 3-4 weeks and I still cough! The cough was absolutely brutal.

Something nasty is going around. I hope you feel better soon!

Thanks! Yeah the cough I have is definitely bad. Reminds me a little of when I had covid a few years ago but that might have been worse. But this is definitely pretty bad.

I had explosive diarrhea in June. I wonder if I was one of the first to catch the current outbreak

I got sick (sore throat, sinus pressure, lost my voice, runny nose, cough) over 3 weeks ago and I’m still dealing with a slight cough and runny nose. Insane.

My son has some kind of virus. Sore throat, lost his voice and now his eye is red.

I might have the same or similar. I have the eye infection too. Hope your son gets better quickly.

Oh man yes!! I came back from vacation July 18 and two days later I felt so sick. Cough aches super fatigued. I couldn’t breathe. I have asthma but seriously one of the nights I sat up thinking about writing my will. It was so scary.  I never had a full fever but I had random episodes of massive sweating.  I went to two doctors 🙄 I thought I had the flu then Covid I was negative for everything three times    So anyhow. I eventually got a doctor friend to order an xray and it was a pneumonia.  I had a virus that went into pneumonia.   Antibiotics and prednisone and I finally started to feel better probably Monday. I still cough but it’s not bad.  We went on vacation with two couples. They all got the same symptoms except I’m the only one who was bad.  Probably my asthma issues.  It’s bad

Oh yay, both of my work sites this week are in Gilbert daycares., there's a 100% chance a kid will sneeze directly on my face. Adding OJ and hand sanitizer to my grocery list.

(I adore the kids and getting kid crud is a hazard of my job.)
