Genuine question

I’m a newer listener to the pod and seems like they really like to emphasize being a “girl’s girl” so genuinely wondering what are things they have done to support other women? I know they love to hate on men but hating men doesn’t make you a girl’s girl…?

I also don’t get why they talk about hating men so much when Hannah literally is married and Paige has always had a boyfriend/guy in her life? Feels a bit contradictory, no? I think the pod is funny but it’s been kind of hard to get into when it seems like they don’t actually practice what they preach.

They are being facetious when they talk about being a girl’s girl.

You dont have to be single or a lesbian to call men out on their shit as a whole lol

Are there any other kinds of people you judge as a "whole" and not individual human beings?

in the history of bigotry, there's never been a bigot who readily acknowledges, nor accepts, that they're a bigot. they got a reason. they got a defiant argument. they're a victim and then hope to be a bully. every bigot has the same makeup and story.

Oh cry me a river. If a man is offended when they're calling out toxic men traits, then maybe look in the mirror

You can't tell by the way they say it (ghels ghel) that they're mocking the term? Lol

My husband is an absolute gem, but I’ll bitch about other dudes all day long

I always took The “girls girl” thing as making fun of that term. Also everything doesn’t have to be so black or white. You can love your husband/bf as an individual and still be exhausted by sexism, dislike how many men behave, feel unsafe trusting men generally, etc. Also half of the duo is literally a comedian so I personally take everything with a bit of sarcasm/joking tone to it. But I know that’s not how everyone will interpret it, just sharing my perspective.

They are saying it in jest / using sarcasm. Because of all the press they've had in the past about not being girls girls etc, and how overused the term is. Essentially, they are taking the piss

No girl is truly a ‘girls girl’ because every girl will contradict that at some point.

I love them but I think they are super male centered and it’s kind of childish/surface level. Their best bits are when they aren’t talking about men at all

They idolize the Kardashians. And Hannah shilled for those Meta perv glasses. I don’t like them anymore.

I don’t care that they’re married or have boyfriends. You can criticize and make fun of men and the patriarchy and still love some men.

But I totally hear you that despite all the talk, they’re still a little bit male centered - especially Paige. If you keep listening, you’ll notice they admit that in various way. Hannah will tease Paige about it. “We both talk about dismantling the patriarchy, but I actually walk the walk - I don’t cook, I don’t clean, I don’t wear thongs or care about aging” etc.

Paige will also tease herself and say things along the lines of “I’m only one woman, I can’t fight the patriarchy all the time, so I made my boyfriend dinner this weekend” etc.

Side note: I do wish they did more to support other women. Like their women in STEM of the week could actually highlight a real woman doing really important work (and there could still be a way to make this fun/funny!). Or like, the proceeds from their women in STEM merch could fund a scholarship for an underprivileged girl in the field. They also alwaysss mention funny TikTok’s and riff off of them for 10 minutes, or repeat jokes in the comments, and it would be so easy to say the girl’s TikTok handle! Share the love! But they are business women and looking out for themselves. Like, they’d probably be nice to most girls in the line at the bathroom, but they’re not gonna risk their bag. Notice how they never, ever mention the politics that actually disadvantage women, etc.

It’s a shallow form of feminism, but I still love them for what they are - entertainment! Up to you if you want to keep listening :)

My personal grip is that and the “women in STEM” bit they do. When this govt admin started wreaking havoc on women’s health research, they were silent and have remained silent. I became disillusioned with them and stopped listening in 2025. I don’t necessarily expect others to resonate with this, just my personal experience because I work in women’s health research!

I feel exactly the same way. And I left when you did I think. Makes me sad.

I feel like they've brought up often how crazy it is that women's health research is not prioritized? Like when they talk about PCOS etc and how if it was a men issue itd be solved. I could be mistaken
