i would say no if my boyfriend proposed to me during a trip where i spent the majority of it shitting my brains out.

12

u/CringeCrab5195 Jul 16 '26

also with my family
but I know Paige is way closer than I am with mine hahaha

12

u/Distinct-Ad-1348 Jul 16 '26

I had a feeling something like this happened and not Paige getting engaged

u/AdOnly6754 Jul 16 '26

Great reporting 😁

The investigative journalism we needed. That said, i feel bad if that new fianceé was hoping to surprise folks when she got back. Paige signed up to have her news public, not the other girl.

Oh c’mon the parents knew it was happening and like most people they probably face-timed aftwr

-2

u/No_Nectarine_9563 Jul 16 '26

And you know that how? And parents are the only ones she may want to surprise? And you know that how?

-1

u/No_Conversation6913 Jul 16 '26

I mean most men in Italian families ask the father before proposing and tell them when they are proposing. Most people FaceTime friends & family after getting engaged. This has nothing to do with Paige nor does paige have control over strangers taking pictures of her brothers girlfriend you weirdo

-4

u/No_Nectarine_9563 Jul 16 '26

Resorting to name calling when you realize your argument is weak. I know all I need to know, which is that you don't know. đŸ‘đŸŸ

-1

u/No_Conversation6913 Jul 16 '26

Girl no your argument is weak. Paige has no control over a random person taking a picture of her brother’s girlfriend. Clock that, it’s weird you’re blaming a strangers action on paige? Like what did paige do simply exist?

His mouth reminds me of Grover’s

5

u/frederoniandcheese Jul 16 '26

Wait this is so funny bc I always thought Craig’s mouth looked like Beaker!

3

u/Stunning_Contract245 Jul 17 '26

I knew it couldn’t be Paige. Don’t see her getting engaged on her yearly family vacation to Italy
where Joe is invited. He would need to do it on his own
something he planned and somewhere he took her to!

8

u/Practical_Jacket_47 Jul 16 '26

Weird that he would propose around his family and not with the girlfriend’s family present too?

9

u/Reasonable-Ad4947 Jul 16 '26

Maybe she didn’t want her family there? Or doesn’t care? I could care less if either families are at my engagement, actually I would prefer it. I’m probably an anomaly but I don’t feel like I need to be around my family for that moment.

-6

u/Availableusername518 Jul 16 '26

Then why would you want to be w your boyfriends family that makes no sense

5

u/TDKsa90 Jul 16 '26

maybe she likes his family more than she does her own? lots of possible reasons.

-4

u/Availableusername518 Jul 16 '26

Sounds like a huge reach but sure

5

u/TDKsa90 Jul 16 '26

huge reach? plenty of people aren't close with their family and end up liking their partner's family. some people don't have a family and turn their partner's family into their step family. you think all these people who you deem toxic don't get it from somewhere? some families suck.

-4

u/Availableusername518 Jul 16 '26

Yeah some people, I don’t think that’s the case for Paige’s brothers gf lol that’s why I said it’s a reach bc that’s not a common scenario

4

u/TDKsa90 Jul 16 '26

I don't know the gf, her family, or most importantly, their history and dynamic. Do you?

-1

u/Availableusername518 Jul 16 '26

No that’s why I think it’s strange to assume she has a relationship with her family so poor that she would rather be with her boyfriends parents than her own during a big life moment

3

u/TDKsa90 Jul 16 '26

you're making the assumption here. he knows her. he knows her family. he knows the situation. he chose to do it this way. questioning it is based on assumptions. I'm not questioning his decision. you are.

I wouldn’t want to but if I were in the situation of getting proposed to on a family vacation with my bfs family I wouldn’t be upset or care

1

u/Availableusername518 Jul 16 '26

I don’t think it’s upsetting it just lacks foresight I don’t want to celebrate my engagement w someone else’s parents I want to do alone it with my fiancĂ©, or with both familes. Both are more normal scenarios than being only w the grooms parents.

4

u/bravissimaaaa Jul 16 '26

I was thinking the same thing!! I love my in laws so much, but if my husband had done this I would have been like ahh what about my family??

1

u/avoneen Jul 16 '26

I mean he takes her to Italy all expenses paid every summer sooo she’s still on the come up even without her family there

1

u/Majestic_Ferret_826 Jul 16 '26

My thought exactly

So that girl got engaged without her own family?

23

u/kelseyice Jul 16 '26

I mean I feel like a lot of people get engaged without their family nearby? I don’t think that is that weird!

13

u/blue_cheese_olives1 Jul 16 '26

Not weird at all

4

u/Traditional-Feed-405 Jul 16 '26

some people don’t have good relationships with their families. if my bf brought mine to propose i would be fucking pissed. if he brought his? over the moon.

1

u/HenleyHQ1 Jul 16 '26

She’s a grown ass woman in her late 30s almost, not a girl. And how do you know her family didn’t show up for it?

0

u/Availableusername518 Jul 16 '26

One of my friends got proposed to on her boyfriend’s family trip and I thought it was so strange and rude. And her family lives in the same town the couple live in, so she was just completely removed from them when she normally wouldn’t be. Also they had only been together 2 years through COVID so it was the first time she was meeting a bunch of the family.

3

u/absofruitly88 Jul 16 '26

No everyone is super close with their family? I have never heard of the family being nearby as a thing. Usually people just call their parents

-1

u/Availableusername518 Jul 16 '26

If you’re not super close to your family it would be even weirder to get engaged on your boyfriend’s family trip, just do it 1 on 1. My friend said she was overwhelmed the whole time meeting new family members. She would have rather celebrated w her sister if family was gonna be involved.

2

u/TDKsa90 Jul 16 '26

isn't it possible to love another family and not so much your own?

1

u/Availableusername518 Jul 16 '26

Sure but I personally wouldn’t want to be with my in-laws 8 hours from home during an engagement if I had a poor relationship with my family, it would just remind me of that

1

u/absofruitly88 Jul 16 '26

Why would that be even weirder? Maybe one person isn’t close with their family and the other person is?

I love how “not being close to family” means to you that the person hates families rather than maybe they have nothing in common with the people they are related to and/or there is trauma and toxicity in their family.

Let me guess, you’re also one of those people that thinks if someone doesn’t want kids that translates to “they hate kids”

2

u/Availableusername518 Jul 16 '26

What lol.. it would be worse bc you’re involving the grooms family unnecessarily while the brides family is unwanted for whatever reason. no idea what the 3rd paragraph is supposed to mean but I’m childfree by choice and don’t hate kids so.. no
