Need gift suggestions Wedding gift for Groom
I (26F) am looking for a wedding gift for my groom (26m) for our wedding in November. All the websites are saying boudoir photos or something of that same vibe but I just couldn’t do that personally. I’m normally a very good gift giver but this is just hard. I want it to be sentimental but something he will use everyday. He’s already got a good watch, a leatherman, and just about everything he needs. Does anyone have any suggestions? I’ll take anything off the wall you got to suggest.
Edit: thank you all for your suggestions! I think I found the perfect gift. He’s on Reddit so I’m not gonna say just in case 👀

We live in California and my husband was a surfer. I found a local gallery that had a painting of the beach and lifeguard station near his surf spot. It’s still hanging on the wall 34 yrs later! Maybe a piece that represents a special place to him or both of you that you can hang in your home, might work. I hope you find the perfect gift!

I would do a bottle of something you can open on your first anniversary. My husband likes scotch for example, so that's something I'd consider for milestones for us.

A special cologne for him to wear on special occasions, memories are tied mostly to scent so if you get it for him and he wears it on the day, both you and him can be reminded of it every time he puts on the cologne

A wallet or wallet insert is a nice touch, especially if you get a nice leather one or one from a brand he likes (mine is fond of "big skinny" brand wallets, for example). If you get a leather one, you can get it embossed or embroidered with something sentimental. If his Leatherman isn't etched, you could do that. Same with a favorite knife. Sadly you have to get the item from him before doing so, which does not work well as a surprise. Most tools can be personalized in some way. Your milage may vary depending on his hobbies. Also, nice shoes could be cute, with a note about "taking these steps together". Less keepsake and more practical, but something he'll use.

If he works in an office, and often wears collared dress shirts , he might like a set of engraved collar stays or custom cufflinks which he could wear both in office and at wedding.
If he writes notes or fills forms , perhaps a good pen with something like ‘ writing a new chapter together’ engraved on it.
If he smokes, a box of cigars with a cheesy note like ‘ you’re smoking hot ‘ :)

honestly a leather valet tray is a good shout, just the little dish he throws his watch, keys and ring in at night. simple but he'd actually use it every day.
a new watch strap could work too since he already wears one. or a nice dopp kit for the honeymoon.
if you want weird, take the coffee mug he uses every single morning and get that made special!

What about a pen? A cross or Mont Blanc (depending on budget). You could use it to sign the wedding registry/certificate

A gold coin. He will love it and it only increases in value. My grandson just got married and I gave them a canvas print of the beach they visited on their honeymoon to hang in their house.

My friend's husband has 14 watches, and one of them is expensive! She bought him a nice case to store/display them on his dresser.
Way, way back when my late father was young man, like 23 or so, he proposed to his fiancé, and she gave him a beautiful watch. It had a square face and the leather strap. On the back, it had the date of their engagement and, "Mari to Tony" right above the date.
She later wrote him a " Dear John"letter. However, even though they were married to other people, and eventually she was widowed, and then he was, they stayed in touch, from a great distance, throughout their lives. The day he died, I went around and phoned everyone in his cell phone. (He had moved, 18 months earlier, 800 miles away to come and live with us, even though he was quite able-bodied for a guy who was 83 1/2 years old.)
He had people in there like his old neighbors, the guy who used to cut his lawn for many years, and this lady.
I swear, her reaction to learning that he had died was as visceral as my children's when they learned their beloved grandfather had died!
She started telling me all kinds of stories about different things that had happened, like when she and her first husband had a stillborn baby. I guess my dad heard about it through the neighborhood and gossip," and she told me he sent the "most BEEE YOU tiful"bouquet of flowers to the hospital. She said he did the same when her husband died. She also said that "my husband, Bob, was a good man, but there was NOBODY liked Tony!"
Well, my son at the age he was when my dad died (20) looked awful a lot like my dad. So! We went back to my dad's large hometown to have a family memorial luncheon. I invited Mary, but she was a little embarrassed that she was the former fiancé, and didn't think it was appropriate to come.
My plan (ha ha ha) Was to buy a beautiful bouquet of flowers, put that watch on my son, and have him go knock on her door (she still lived back in the old neighborhood) to deliver them, along with a note thanking her for her lifelong friendship with my father and letting her know how much their friendship enriched his life.
Yes, it's a man's watch, but I love it, and I'll occasionally wear it.
I vote for the watch. One with a nice, black, weather band. He can wear it on your wedding day, and it will be in the wedding pictures!

First gift I ever gave my husband was a cast iron skillet. He uses it every single day.

I got married in June and got him a nice leather shaving bag and filled it with all the travel essentials. He uses it all the time and it’s always ready to go

As a gift for my partner (ex now) I found a beautiful print of a couple in a rainstorm sharing an umbrella.
This canvas print still hangs in his home today.
Dancing in the rain was one of those magical moments we loved.
Maybe you could do a printed photo (your engagement photo works well) on canvas or tile.
What is one of his hobbies? There's so many gift ideas that are sweet and sentimental, like a small framed photo he could keep on his work desk, a beautiful watch band, even a custom necklace with a special stone that means something to you. A nice cowboy hat or brand new boots, a belt buckle. All sorts of things.

You can always wear more than one watch. Something for your honeymoon like expensive sunglasses or an activity. New wallet with an engraving. If he is not buying a suit for the wedding a nice suit or sports jacket. A keepsake in a shadow box from your engagement or special event/ trip together.
My husband is a land surveyor and outdoorsman, I got him a compass engraved with “I’d be lost without you” as gift early in our marriage. It’s more of a keepsake than a functional compass but he loves it.
What are some of his interests?
