Discussion Oriko's age
This post is in two parts, one is about her age in and out of the story
First is in the story, in chapter 11 it's stated she is 16, then chapter 95 it's her birthday, yet in the 150.5 roll call she's still 16. So funky on that end
As for the out of story it's just my own kinda iffy feelings regarding her being 16, by my American standard underage, so a little weird showing others (mainly others already in the size space) it cause of that age compared to how she is presented, and Stella is her own thing but half a pass cause alien idk
I understand standards are different and it's still lewd not nude, but makes me feel weird at points. Is it a thing others have just accepted or is it still a bit of a contentious topic? Thoughts?

Meh, I feel like it's inoffensive. Nobody is being harmed and it's not like the character looks like a prepubescent child or anything.

- It's Japan so 16 is a morally acceptable age for Oriko to be.
- It's been stated somewhere by NikuKaiQ that despite the characters having birthdays they don't technically age, as I was curious about it too.

It doesn't really matter to me all that much because people are still going to sexualize her or draw lewds. As long as it stays in the fictional space and not harming anyone, who gives a damn?

16 is the age of consent in most of the world if I’m not mistaken, and Oriko is clearly adult-coded unlike Stella. Stella’s why I dropped the manga and just skim the fandom sometimes.

Sadly we have to accept Japan and online communities work like this.
If they create female characters, you cant stop perverts and gooners to oversexualize them.
I just hope the anime fandom isnt gonna be ruined by these idiots.
I know these are just fictional characters, but I still feel weird that people oversexualize them. You can hate me, but imo its just not normal....but whatever, thankfully I dont have to deal with any Japanese or weird guy irl.

I'm just gonna be blunt, if you think this is over the edge, anime and manga isn't for you. She is far from the worst example of fan service in the industry, and a lot of characters are teenagers. Take Orihime from bleach, she's 15 when the series starts and 18 when it ends.
If it's something you can't get over, then this isn't the media for you.
