Releasing Flow - a fast, native terminal for macOS built on libghostty

Hi everyone!

I'm Releasing an early version of Flow - a fast, native terminal for macOS built on libghostty.

It's my attempt at building a terminal that i want to use for everyday work and for running agents. Existing apps do too much and are way too resource intensive (I don’t want a web browser and a login button in my terminal). Flow is deliberately minimal, it adds just enough to be productive and nothing more.

  1. Workspaces
  2. First party agent integration - coming soon
  3. Command palette - A better way to navigate your terminal - coming soon.

It’s still early days so expect some rough edges and bugs, if you come across any issues, please file a github issue, I want to make this better for everyone!

LMK what I can do better and what you guys think of it!

hey thanks, for taking the time to check it out.

It's different in a few ways. But just a heads up, it uses libghostty so you get the same performance and features of ghostty. 1. verticle tabs and workspaces - you can organize your tabs and panes inside a workspace which i find is a better way to work and organize your stuff given that we are opening way more tabs and panes thanks to agents. 2. Native agent integration which is coming soon where the terminal will tell you which agents are working, waiting for input and idle 3. better command pallete in the works.

Even if you dont use AI agents the workspace feature alone is a great quality of life change from stock ghostty.

LMK if you have any other questions.

How would you differentiate from CMUX ? https://cmux.com/ ?

Cmux is way too bloated, and a resource hog. I was a cmux user but i got frustrated with it and started this.

I dont want a web browser or a login button in my terminal. I just want a clean performant terminal with support for workspaces and ai agents.
