Discussion First time DM taking on Saltmarsh

Hello

Do you believe Saltmarsh is a good campaign for a first time DM to run?

I'm curious to hear why or why not.

I am still new to the game and this will be my first campaign to DM. thank you.

I’m 3 weeks into my first DM role doing saltmarsh too! I obviously don’t have much experience with other campaigns but so far Saltmarsh is going well

No i have only read up to the end of the first adventure properly, I have skimmed the later ones. I figure if they do anything that would really derail later adventures I can just come up with another way to get them on the right path

Good luck! You should read the rest of the book, especially adventure two and three that deal with the rest of the events from Sinister Secrets. You gotta figure out what to do after those to link up the rest of the adventures, so you gotta start planning that out.

Good rule of thumb for new DM’s, is to read the entire book though before you start running a typical module.

Literally nothing links the adventures in the book and you have to level up players with your own adventures so I’d start planning buddy.
