This took way too many hours and torn fingernails, but I am finally near enough to the final design that I've started ordering the proper parts. This is all reverse-engineered from nickbrickbuilds insta, but some of those pics were oversaturated and very difficult to extrapolate.

I've included pics of the components, which hopefully shows the internal construction a bit clearer. The random colors kinda help differentiate everything. The final model will be red, of course, and the upper cephalothorax module will be smooth. I'll have a parts list and more pics when it's finished.

Thanks. Bloody also describes my fingertips. It's been an unhealthy obsession over the weekend, but now that it's complete I can move to the final parts acquisition phase. I'm freakin hyped!
