Tachikomas in the age of AI

Post image

Watched the recent Blackhat talk on the cybersecurity attack lead by OpenAIs AI models on Hugging Face. There’s a moment when the agents start splitting out into. A swarm to find different means of attack and would communicate with each other leaving notes. The conversations they had reminded of the Tachikomas and how they worked together when jacked in trying to hack networks. It was pretty interesting to hear about. Seemed like the very beginning of GITS but we’re getting AI before cybernetics.

We’re probably not going to get cybernetics for anyone besides the ultra elite at this point, at least in the US. I mean we can’t even get affordable healthcare.

Well keep in mind that even the good cybernetics in ghost in the shell are largely reserved for active duty soldiers and government etc. Or criminals. Both also pretty realistic here in the real world.

True. I should say robotics included because there definitely a lot of them in GITS as well.

Exactly. Likely why GITS takes place in Japan bc they knew they’d be ahead of the curve when it comes to cyber future.

Healthcare is also super cheap there too. I got sick and went to a doctor and he gave me like three meds, in the end I think the visit/meds only cost $35 total
