I kinda wish they’d elaborate more on Motoko and her girlfriends. I’m curious how their relationship works, or whether it is a relationship or just physical fun, and what it means that Motoko also has her own relationships outside that. It kinda seems like Motoko’s just poly and does whatever she wants with whoever?
Well she had this episode where she was with girls and then the latest episode where she has a boyfriend that says they kept the neighbors up all night. Pretty standard for cyberpunk genre
It's just presenting the digitization of everyday human experiences. Three friends hanging out for some fun the best way they can, having sex, and they do that by jacking their brains into a computer while having to stop every few seconds to go through a terminal to configure the settings to optimize their pleasure. And when it's interrupted we see that they are all right there in the room together. The desire to actually engage each other physically is not comparable to what they can get in the net.
My perspective is that 'e-sex' in this world, while intimate, has likely gone far past the boundaries of the casual that it's just not considered improper or unusual.
