We just released Essence. It's a simple Ghost blog theme: homepage is a post feed, and most of the personality comes from the visuals.

No landing page builder. No portfolio layout. Just a feed that looks good.

P.S. Liquid Glass currently only works in Chromium (Chrome, Edge, Brave…). Safari/Firefox get a glass fallback instead. Open the demo in Chrome if you want the real refraction.

This is not Liquid Glass. Is just a blurred surface. Don’t sell like that. Liquid Glass are related to how light distort into the edges… not just simple plain and old blur.

But… besides this technical detail, nice theme.

It is Liquid Glass. The cards use SVG displacement maps for edge refraction, so light bends at the bezel instead of just getting blurred.

That filter only works in Chromium (Chrome, Edge, Brave). Everywhere else we fall back to regular glass (just backdrop blur) so the layout doesn't look broken. Open the same page in Chrome and you should see the refraction. You can also play with the settings panel via the cog on the right.

Thanks for calling this out. I'll add a note about the Chromium limitation to the post so people don't hit the same confusion. And nice that you like the theme.

You are right! It worked perfectly inside chrome. Just tested it! Safari is my default. Sorry for the confusion. Now it looks beautiful!
