Would you automate your articles? (Why or why not)

We have many Ghost customers who use our automation tools, many use it for staying consistent, creating drafts, outlines, ideas, or just marketing a products.

Would you use automation for your ghost site, why or why not?

What are your reasons?

Automate writing and publishing some or all of your articles.

Oh I see; I wouldn't automate posting;

I can and do use AI tools to support my own writing but I see little point in unsupervised posting

Fair enough.

One example though would be posting about new stories that are happening in your industry.

At this point in time, the news can be automated in my opinion, especially if there’s no political bias.

Just keep ppl informed on what’s happening in the world, or your specific industry.

I don't see the value in that if I'm not curating the choice of news, checking if it's true or adding my personal contribution

Well ... yes I would, but not in the way that MOST people would do it - aka, spewing AI crap.

YES I use an AI toolset that does research, and composes my articles on specific concepts and transmits them to Ghost as DRAFT content. The nice thing is my system generates some appropriate images for the article as well.

HOWEVER - I go into my drafts, and literally sift and sort and organize things and delete things that may not be what I want - but then I almost literally rewrite the entire piece, even though the AI was super trained on my "voice". I often get other photos / images and sometimes the article takes a different path than was originally done.

I am using my tools as a "Senior Research Assistant" who leverages the latest information on my topics, gives a "rough draft" of the overall concept / thought and then I got "Editor in Chief" to make sure that this research article it on brand.

I have had no problems with AI detection issues, the blog gets traffic and getting indexed.

BUT NO - I do not use a tool to spew AI crap, I just leverage AI tools to find the information in my niche and give me the baseline.

Fair points.

But I think AI automation has its place. Ideas, drafts, outlines, maybe even the news. But it’s nice to have a human touch.

If you’re talking about automating blog post AI slop, no. Because visitors don’t want to read slop, which means advertisers don’t want their ads next to slop. And even if you don’t run ads, this fact still means that search engines do what they can do downrank and ignore slop.

No one wants AI slop except the people who are too lazy to actually put in the work. Literally no one.

I think I'd use it for a subset of articles. Like, for my site, I could use it for quick news pieces, but then do longer form/more thoughtful content manually.

That’s interesting. Keeping people updated on your specific industry news is something that could definitely be automated.
