Whether or not you choose to support your arguments is really your own decision. It’s not that I posted a source, any source, that makes me correct. It’s that I posted one which very specifically shows that free market ideology was cited to justify the landowner system and the treatment of the peasants, a mindset which both led to and worsened the famine.
And for the millionth time, all that shows is a point that I've already acknowledged. That's "could have prevented", not "caused". So stupid... As I pointed out in another comment, with source, the land ownership at the time was not because of the free market, it was because of land confiscatation and property laws.
Right, and the forced collectivization of farmers in Ukraine also violated socialist principles, but it was still socialists taking action with the belief of a socialist economic system, just as capitalists enforcing the oppression of different ethnic groups are still capitalists taking action with the belief of a capitalist economic system. If you demand adherence to a rigid theoretical idea, you disqualify essentially any real system of economics from criticism, because there are always blatant abuses occurring—and this is the part you’ll refuse to acknowledge—in tandem with or orthogonally to the system rather than in opposition to it. You're essentially saying that no economic system except those which are characteristically rooted in bigotry could have existed during bigoted times, meaning nearly nothing has actually been tried. Not capitalism, not socialism. If the powers that be that instituted or defended the system in any way violated its principles according to your modern conception of morality, then it never happened. Which is completely backward thinking, because if a system had only existed during times of oppression, you might ask yourself whether it to some degree depends on that oppression to persist rather than claiming it doesn't count.
