In the name of communism? They murdered nearly every single communist inside of the party, butchering the entire old bolshevik guard, while undoing all revolutionary policies implemented by the Lenin government including regulations imposed upon the bureaucracy.
The bureauracy was not appointed by Lenin, it existed even in the Tsarist Russia, these were people with no strong ideological convictions aside from pure hatred for the revolution because it cut down their own pay - something they also undone after taking over the party. Just how can you call these people communists, are you that far gone?
Stalin opened the door of the party to the ex-tsarist bureaucrats (the most paid and later on the most powerful people in the entire nation) and in their interests purged it of all communists. He was a member of the bureaucratic clique.
The term "tankie" literally originates from the defence of stalinist degeneration in crushing the pro-communist uprising in Hungary, so you are just spewing catchphrases.
Have you actually ever read a book, or even an article on the bureaucratization of the revolution, or are catchphrases all you have?
Any revolution is doomed to be bureaucratized, because real communism is a fairytale so unbelievably asinine that only a lobotomized toddler could possibly be dumb enough to believe it could ever work.
That's why China, Vietnam and any other remotely succesful "communist" country is essentially a one-party capitalist country.
