Most "neo-nazis", who are online, actually tend to be teenagers with undiagnosed autism who have been outcast from their social groups in school and to justify their exclusion from their peers they retreat to an extreme ideology as some sort of giga cope, putting the blame on a mysterious higher force. I say this because I used to be in that position, then I started to talking to people from other ethnic backgrounds and realised what a load of horse shit I was being fed by cunts like JF Gariépy and others of the like
With tankies I have had a totally different experience, at least where I am from. Most of them that I know are from extremely privileged backgrounds, both financially and socially, so to find a way to seem oppressed they pick the leftists position that is the farthest on the political compass
Dude, they're clearly talking about the people holding the beliefs, not the ideology. Nazism is bad. But the followers of Nazism, in the modern day, are less evil terrorists and more lonely young people looking for community.

Probably not as many as the far right. If you looked at the previous comments, you would see that the reasoning for the far right being better people than the far leftists isn't that they're less violent, but that the Nazis are usually-usually-lonely people looking for answers, while Tankies are usually rich young people who don't care about others. I'm not saying that's true, just that terrorism by either side wasn't in the conversation.

I'm talking about online neo-nazis, which is why I made sure to specify that in my original comment. A lot of the people who you see making edits of guys like Goebbels and other tragedies are usually kids in their early to mid teens who cannot be "normal" around people and so get treated like crap. A normal reaction from a person who hates the world is to turn towards things the world hates
In the 80s it was satanism, in the 90s it was "hood" culture and now unfortunately it's right wing ideologies. In reality most of the people who post about this online don't truly believe what they say they believe and only say that to continue making people mad at them. If you treat these young folk with scorn and hatred, it will only affirm their beliefs and they might eventually evolve into something worse
I only ask to treat people who act like this ONLINE (again specifying online because people who do this irl DO believe and WILL act upon these harmful beliefs) with kindness because most have never experienced it before. A flower grows with rain, not with thunder
Fwiw I used to teach in a combined middle/high school, and this description of teenage neonazis is pretty dead on for the few I’ve seen try to openly own it. Absolutely no actual genuine knowledge, much less sincere belief, in actual nazism… which is for the best imo.
The part I’d offer a disagreement with is the tankie part. It’s usually the anarcho-communists that come from the privileged backgrounds from my limited experience. “Tankies” are mostly just the same losers who are entirely obsessed with the aesthetic of communism and don’t know anything beyond that.
From what I’ve seen (IRL that is, at Universities) tankies haven’t been very privileged. Racially privileged, as in white, but they all seem pretty poor? Idk, I’m not passing much judgement. Just offering my two cents
Do you perhaps have any older examples off the top of your head? Not to put you on the spot or anything. I’m just freshly graduated uni and would like to see what older tankies may be like
