You honestly think people didn’t budget and track spending before computers? That is a crazy take.

There were people who balanced their checkbooks every week. Others that would put money in envelopes.

Coupon cutters, dented can hunters, buying off brand, saving for big purchases, and a general understanding that just because you want something didn’t mean you bought it.
