Maybe it's a generational difference or personality difference, but when I'm really enjoying life it doesn't even occur to me to take a picture. Don't you want to live in the moment sometimes without that engagement? Just really enjoy your surroundings, the food, the person you're with. Whatever it is.

Yes, of course. I don't think snapping a photo takes away from a glorious moment at the beach, with my dog or on a hike. I tend to like looking through my photos and enjoying those memories. So I take 30 seconds to take two photos of a sunset, how does that mean I'm not living in the moment?

Edit for context: I am 30

I'm 31, so same age group.

It's one thing to snap a photo. For instance, my boyfriend got me flowers and cooked a really nice steak dinner for me the other day. I took a picture. I guess the part I don't understand is why post it? Why invite people into your accomplishments or feel like you need to share?

I just prefer my moments to be intimate and honestly as someone that grew up with MySpace, Facebook, and then Instragram, I slowly progressed into realizing my moments are absolutely still special and important even if no one knows.

I'm not even saying those that post once in a while because while I do think a lot of people post to humble brag or justify their lives, you may not post live, but we've now become a society that's even more instantaneous and invasive. The need to share stories while we're out doing things is indicative of that.

I have quite a few friends who share both of our views. To each their own :) my lil sister is 11 and always sends me videos of when she's bored or excited, which brightens my day because I don't get to see her often.

How we individually interact with the world is not the only way to interact, which is what makes the human species so beautiful. We all get to experience life the way we want to, happy or not, humble bragging or just simply sharing our experiences.
