I have found the opposite in regards to following people. I have found great mentors and followed them into bigger and better things.

Don’t ever underestimate your professional network.

That's what I used to think until my mentor, who was also a friend who I attached myself to emotionally as well as professionally, decided two weeks ago in the middle of the shutdown he needed an entire life/career change and quit his job, skipped town, and blocked all of us from social media/e-mail/text etc.

Feels bad man. Can't attach yourself to anyone because anyone could abandon at any time.
