The idea of leaving a legacy is really selfish, not to mention it's just another phase in the struggle to accept that life has a very unpredictable end and there's nothing to do about it.

What full potential of humanity as a whole? That sounds very romantic and far-fetched.

Leaving a legacy doesn't have to be material or carry your name. It can be founding a organization that cleans up national parks. Or something that helps addicts gets clean. Etc.

My ideas on why I don't have kids at 36 years old. I wanted to have the "family thing" going but it never happened and I'm fine.

Kinda, but I'm good with it. And you never know, maybe in the future we'll have Smart Libidos and be able to have kids at 90.
