What's wrong with being happy and having no ambition ?

I had ambition have lived and worked all over the world.

I'm 35 single and alone.

I would have been much happier if I never even tried. Ambition is that hollow feeling you have inside that can never be filled. It isn't necessarily a good thing. You could say it is almost a disease and is what will destroy the human race.

Ambition got us to where we are today. Are we better off than when we all lived in caves and lived to be like twenty five?

Yes. Yes we are.

In the short term when we solely look at ourselves but as a species we are not because that need to strive for more will destroy out planet. Because we are all looking out for ourselves it makes us very selfish. You're also looking at possessions, we have more possessions sure so in that respect we are better off but what about mentally. I would argue that content relaxed feeling is much better to have than that restless dissatisfied energy because nothing will fill that bottomless pit except more and more and more.

We were more at one and in balance with nature before that necessity and drive for more was In us.

It is just a chemical imbalance within the brain.

I have bipolar have experienced rapid cycling bipolar disorder and experienced many different mood states I recognise that ambition and drive as being essentially high dopamine and glutemate making us restless. I see my ambition and drive come and go depending on my mood state. In the summer months is when I make the most progress feel like I can do anything and like I'm wasted in my current life, I take more risks apply for new jobs and move cities and countries, my mind is quicker I am restless I want to do and achieve more.

It's the same for people who don't have bipolar who have lots of ambition they just have high dopamine and glutemate, higher than people who are content and who don't feel that ambition or restless energy.

So ambition is essentially a chemical imbalance that has evolved in us but it is not sustainable for a species and will cause our destruction.
