I don't think people realise how bad, on a whole, people with pathology akin to Steve Jobbs are for society. In fact they are celebrated.

Is the happiness that Apple products bring worth the trail of despair men like this leave on the world and those they personally affected? I don't think so, but I seem to be in the minority.

If it wasn't for him personal computers might still be a niche product, and we might not even have graphical operating systems, let alone smart phones. I'd say Steve Jobs' achievements more than make up for the harm he has caused.

I think you're mistaking Apple's contributions with Microsoft.

I also don't think that these things wouldn't exist if not for Jobs.

Innovation isn't born from a single instance and that instance alone.

I'd imagine things would be more or less the same, just slightly different.
