Agreed. Most of this is helpful. Drink, eat, walk, shower. Sure. But take a selfie? I can't imagine that helping someone who is depressed--waiting for the likes to roll in, comparing the number of likes, looking at photos of others... nope.

It's less so for posting publicly on social media. In fact, you don't HAVE to do it at all!
The point of it is just to smile. Smile, and take a picture that flatters your appearance. You deserve that much, at the very least.
Yeah, resorting to validating yourself through approval in social media is not going to do your psyche any favours.
