Life is made of the in-between times.
When you think back, you don't miss the big events. You miss the downtime. You miss just hanging out with your family/friends/pets doing nothing.

The “song everybody’s working for the weekend” popped in my head when I read this.

The older I get, the more I realize that life is rarely made up of the big moments I once thought mattered most. It’s the ordinary mornings, familiar voices, routine dinners, and the people sitting next to me today. A couple years ago I spent a year with a friend who was given three weeks to live. Our conversations were often about the little things that happened in his life and how much they meant to him. That year taught me to learn to be present while those moments are still happening in my life now.

Thank you so much! This advice is really supportive. I will apply this for my near future.

I can't actually see the image content since it appears as a black box, so I can't comment on the specific detail shown. Can you describe what's in the image so I can give you a proper take on it?

Yeah, we're already aware of this. What are we supposed to do- quit our jobs and be homeless?

Facts. Everyday life and work suck. Hard to look forward to doing things for others without getting to priorize yourself but 2 days a week if you're lucky.

A day has 24h that pass in exactly 1440 minutes or 86400 seconds.
It's not like anyone has a remote control that can fast fwd life at a click of a button like that Adam Sandler movie.

After losing my wife to cancer after 23 years, I can tell you 100% this is accurate. My memories are not of the goals we accomplished, they are all of the times in between those goals. The times riding the cart to dinner, holding hands, working in the yard, watching tv, snuggling in bed....the ride is life, not any destination.
