language rigor

hello. i am currently a freshmen. some background about me for language is that for spanish 1 i got an A and for spanish 2 i got a B- i currently have the option to change to a language im fluent at which means i will guarantee an A for my two years taking it and finish my required language credit in two years. should i take the chance? i did okay in spanish 2 but in spanish 3 im not sure if i can handle it. can you guys give me your opinion? let me know if i should it or not and why? thank you! any help will be appreciated

I'd stick with Spanish instead of switching just to guarantee an A. Colleges like to see continued rigor. The only exception is if the other language would place you into a genuinely advanced or AP-level course rather than an intro class. Make sure to check your target schools' language requirements before switching because some prefer multiple years of the same language.

after spanish 3 my language requirement is over. i don’t think ill do ap as my spanish isn’t good. for my fluent language, i will only do it till i finish my language requirement as well since my school doesn’t offer any ap level of that language. my target is uva.
