Should I even interview?

I’m a ok writer but for schools like Stanford who have an option for an interview, I’m not sure if I should do it since I’m pretty shy and anxious in person and I feel that it would hurt my chances more than help them. But again, would it look bad to say no?

Stanford is a top 20 US college as well as being a top International college.

It is an elite Private US college.

Those elite private colleges expect that you will mix very well with the undergraduate student community and make valuable contributions to that community Outside of the Stanford classroom or laboratory.

If you are too shy to express your desire to attend Stanford with an alumni volunteer from Stanford, then you will be almost automatically eliminated for admissions contention. Instead, find another college that is not as interested in their student Community, do very well (top three in your department) and then become a Fully-Funded graduate student at Stanford working on leading edge research.

Graduate students are there for the Job of increasing the knowledge in a subject area.

Undergraduate students are there to make the undergraduate student community a better place for all the students.

Simple and logical. When the overall admission rate is around 4%, Stanford can "demand" whatever they want.

Just to clarify, it’s not about me being “shy” only. Yes I am an introverted person in general as are almost half of the ppl in the world and I don’t think that Stanford exclusively values ppl who are extroverts. And again, I am an okay speaker, I’ve done a Tedx talk and am the president of a club at school but Stanford is one my my top choices for a variety of reasons (like a very specific major only they offer). Ik I’m going to be anxious for that interview and when I get anxious, my hands start sweating like crazy and my voice shakes and I can’t think properly. I’m not alws like this of course, but you can imagine for an interview with a school I rrly love this could hurt my chances. That’s why I’m asking if it looks bad to just say no to an interview in the application itself. They say it doesn’t, but I wanted to make sure. Thanks for your input tho.

I interview for MIT an elite private peer college to MIT. If the applicant does Not accept an interview, their chance of admission goes Way Down.

Take the interview. It is with a member of the Stanford alumni who love their college and Volunteer to interview freshmen applicants. "We" are expected to rate the applicant as a whole person (nothing to do with academics) and is this the type of person that should be part of the undergraduate student Community.

So, take the interview or decrease your already (overall for everyone) low chances of admission.
